Library internships

FOR RE@ L!, a month long internship program for interested Arlington County 10th -12th graders provides real work experience while volunteering at Arlington Public Library. Under the tutelage of the Youth Services Librarian at the Columbia Pike Branch Library, students will gain knowledge and skills used in the professional world of public service in libraries and may be assigned tasks in the following areas: children's programs, public relations, technology, and merchandising. While working closely with library staff, students will be exposed to the realities of the world of work.

·         Visit the Columbia Pike Branch Library

·         Meet staff and turn in your resume AND 2 letters of reference from assigned teachers or professors

·         Make an appointment for an interview with the Youth Services Librarian

Important dates:

Deadline for application consideration is May 31.

Program participants will be advised by June 15.

Internship begins July 1 ends July 30.

Tentative schedule is Monday through Friday 2p-6p.
